  • I am currently in-network with most major insurance plans through Gateway Counseling Center.

    >>>> *I only see insurance clients in person there two days a week so spots are limited--more flexibility with virtual sessions*

    Please visit: https://www.gatewaycounselinginc.com/

**Please note that when using insurance to cover your therapy services, insurance companies require a diagnosis be given to a client in order for it to be considered “medically necessary.” Without this, insurance will not cover your services.

If you are out of network, I can provide an invoice or superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please check with your individual insurance policy for details.

  • Both!

I love to see clients in person, but online/telehealth sessions are available to those with reliable internet connection.

Due to current state licensing laws, you must be a Missouri resident to participate in online therapy sessions. (Stay tuned as this may change in 2024 due to new laws referred to as the Counseling Compact which will allow counselors to serve clients across state lines. Go to https://counselingcompact.org/ to learn more.)

Online therapy can be a great benefit for those:

-Who live in a different part of Missouri

-Not feeling well, but still want your session without spreading germs

-Don’t want to risk driving in icy road conditions

-Busy schedule/unable to make it to the office

  • Please call or text me with as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling so that someone else needing help can be scheduled in that spot and we can get you seen as soon as possible.

    417-582-3097

*(Calls and messages are only checked during business hours, not in the evenings or over the weekend.)

Late Cancellations: While I understand that sometimes unexpected things happen (like car trouble or illness) that may cause you to need to reschedule, late cancellations are billed a $25 fee to protect my time that I have set aside for you.

No shows: If you do not call to cancel or reschedule your appointment and simply do not show up, you are considered a "no show" and will be billed the full rate of your service that was scheduled.

  • First of all, I’m so happy that you are choosing to make yourself a priority and reach out for support! I hope that you’re excited, but please know it’s totally normal to feel a little nervous or awkward when you first start therapy.

Your first step is to submit a contact form through the website. The form has a place for you to let me know briefly what you're wanting help with. I then reach out to you by your preferred method, either call, text, or email, and we chat briefly about what you’re looking for and I’ll answer any questions you may have. That helps us to both decide if we’re a good fit before you invest your time and money.

If it is a fit for us then we’ll get you scheduled and I will email you a link to the secure client portal where you will fill out your new client intake forms and read through and sign the informed consent, privacy practices, and cancellation policy all online. No need to print anything! You will even enter your payment information right into the secure client portal making payment super easy. Your card will be charged for your session the same day as your appointment.

During that first appointment we’ll figure out how often to schedule based on your needs.

  • Each individual session is 50-60 minutes. This is the typical length of time for therapy nationwide and is the industry standard based on insurance reimbursement rates.

As far as overall length of treatment, there are many variables to consider when determining the length any person is in therapy. The biggest factor to consider is what is your intention or goal for therapy? Your individual goal(s) that you are trying to accomplish may take time or may be quickly achieved.

Also, consider how frequently you are able to attend therapy and the time and work you are willing to put into it outside of your sessions. This will directly impact how quickly you reach your goals.

Another consideration is your own needs and perception of therapy. Some prefer support only during a specific event to help them get through that period of time, some are very goal oriented with a specific outcome in mind, and others prefer to have a therapist as an ongoing source of support and growth.

That being said, the majority of clients attend sessions weekly or biweekly, but ultimately you get to decide what works for your schedule and budget!

  • Yes, I do!

While I am passionate about working with women, I have male clients too.

Men also struggle with anxiety, people pleasing behaviors, and relationships and are welcome to reach out to me.

  • Your safety if very important to me. If you are experiencing an emergency or crisis that requires immediate attention, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.

You can also call 988 to speak to a crisis counselor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. They will ask about your safety and that counselor will listen to you, understand how your problem is affecting you, provide support, and share any resources that may be helpful.

Once you are more stable then reach out to me and we will get you scheduled as soon as possible.
